I just bought this bike in silver a week ago and it rides very smooth. I'm 6'1 245 pounds and got the large frame. I would say it fits perfect. Very happy with my purchase. The only thing I didn't like about the bike is the seat. Is not comfortable. Beside the seat, this bike rocks. Great price!

I bought this bike as a replacement for my old 26" mountain bike and my road bike. I wanted a legitimate mountain bike for hitting the trails, but also needed something to cruise around town on. I'm very pleased with this purchase. I'm a 5'8" 160 lb male and the small frame was the best fit for me... unfortunately I had to wait 2 weeks while it was on order but at least I got the right size.

It is great on the paved bike trail with my 11-month old son in his Weeride, but also handles great on single-track in the woods. I've only had it for a few weeks but I've ridden it every day and have no complaints. The disc brakes rub a bit in the back, but I'll adjust them soon. The shock is nice and the lockout comes in handy if you need it.

The tires it came with are not beefy MTB tires as I would prefer, but the hybrid tires are actually probably better for my current tame rides on the bike path. Overall, I'm very happy with this bike and would recommend it as a cost-effective entry-level 29er for a casual road and MTB rider.

Mostly a road cyclist, I was looking for a good 29er hard tail for my occasional trail riding. I currently have an Aggressor 1.0 that my daughter has fallen in love with and claimed hence my search for a new trail bike.

In November, 2012 when I saw this one for under five bills on sale I took a hard look to see what was wrong with it. The short answer is not very much. A few compromises to keep the price down (tires are cheapest possible, disks are mechanical, and the fork has limited travel) but for my use I don't need a top of the line fork (just one with lockout)and I threw in some tube liners for now and will end up upgrading the tires anyhow.

Grupo is same as my Aggressor (a little over 1k miles on it and I've adjusted the brake and derailer cables only twice) and disks are fine. I easily can lock up the front wheel and skid to a halt on trail or stand it on it's nose on the road so plenty of stopping power. Plenty of control in between those extremes as well.

Mine is matte black with dark gray lettering, really stealth fighter looking. My Aggressor was a large frame and I added a longer stem to compensate. I went with an XL frame for the Timberline and at 6' 2" 240 lbs. 33" inseam it fits me perfectly.

I've only put about 15 miles on it so far, but that's enough to get it dialed in and see that I'm going to like this bad boy a lot - a WHOLE lot.

I can see the price going up on this so if you'r e in the market, take a look pretty quick at this bike. They're going to have to raise the price. I don't see how they can keep selling it at the price point it's at. I also don't see how for us more casual riders they will ever sell a Karakoram 4.0, 3.0 again, and loose some 2.0 sales as well. 20mm of fork travel is not a big deal for most of us honestly and that is really the biggest difference for us more casual trail riders. They may drop this one to avoid cannabalizing sales of the higher priced model!
