I recently visited Livigno with my wife Carmen, who is also a
photographer, and with my stepson Haz (16 years), to document the
perfect 24 hours in Livigno.

When we arrived on July 18th, it was right after a mid-summer snow storm
and all the mountain were still white. We started our day by riding the
Mottolino Freeride Park, the park has many new line and stunts this year
and it was fun to ride and great to show to Haz, who had never ridden
his bike in a bike park before. He had a lot of fun and even was able to
catch some air on some of the jumps. He said it was more fun than
visiting Euro-Disney. At this occasion we also shot the cover photo for
the new 2010 GT catalog.

Afterwards we packed our backpacks and rode our bikes to the Carosello
lift to catch the last ride of the day with the telecabina to the
mid-station. From there we rode our bikes to the Baitel dal Canton
mountain hut, where we spent the night. Those Baitel's or mountain huts
are super cool, everybody can sleep there, first come first serve. There
are blankets, firewood and a small hut for shelter with all the
essentials.

It was a beautiful experience, especially in the morning when we had a
nice view of the mountains and Livigno in the valley. We took advantage
of the morning light for some photos before we rode our bikes down on
the beautiful Plasgianet trail. Next stop was the Larix Adventure Park,
what a fun place that was, the tree course was challenging and super
fun, I can recommend it to everybody. By now our 24 hours where almost
over, we found a great restaurant for Pranzo in the center of Livigno,
where we enjoyed some delicious pasta, vino and gelato.

A presto

Hans
