This weekend was our U.S. National XC and STXC championships held in Mt. Snow, Vermont. Mt Snow has hosted the Championship for the past two years and has been putting on races since MTB racing started. I had some bad luck in the XC flatting on the third of four laps and dropping from second place back to sixth. I tried fixing it on the fly but had to stop in the tech zone for a new wheel and by the time I got going again my race was over. I crawled in for sixth place to salvage a few UCI points. I was hoping for better luck in the Short Track on Sunday but it just wasn’t my weekend. Halfway through the race Trebon and I were off the front when I had a mechanical that resulted in me having to stop the race. Another championship hope dashed. There were two positives from the weekend, my form was good and they presented us our Olympic jerseys. I’m hoping for a change in luck this weekend in Mt. St. Anne. Thanks for your support.
