UCI Continental Series & ABA Winter Nationals

Mar 6, 2010

Mike Day
AA Pro - Saturday: DNQ
AA Pro - Sunday: DNQ

Mike hasn’t raced since the ABA Grands back in November, in an effort to let his ailing back heal up. Unfortunately for the 2008 Olympic Silver Medalist, he’s still not quite ready to go, and it showed this weekend in Phoenix. This has always been one of Mike’s favorite places to race, and he was really looking forward to lighting it up here. He’ll be better soon and putting his GT Speed Series on top of the podium.

Joey Bradford
Elite Men - Saturday: 8th (1/4 final)
Pro Cru – Saturday: 8th
AA Pro - Sunday: DNQ
Pro cru – Sunday: 7th

Joey has had his ups and downs so far in 2010. He’s been straight killin it in Pro Cruiser, winning five out of the first six events. This weekend would be his roughest one yet though. He had a crash in the AA Pro ¼ final on Saturday that took him out of the running, as well as a huge crash in the Pro Cruiser main, while winning it on Saturday night. His results on Sunday weren’t much better, as the sloppy wet conditions didn’t help his efforts. Look for Joey to be on fire at the next event in DeSoto, TX for the USAC National Championships. Last year he was in position to win that event on all three days of racing!

Eric Rupe
Vet Pro - Saturday: DNQ
Pro Cru – Sunday: 6th
Vet Pro – Sunday: DNQ
Pro Cru - Sunday: 6th

Big Daddy has had a pretty tough go of it so far in 2010 in the Vet Pro class. He represents well and seems to go well in practice, but it’s just not clicking for him when race time roles around. Good thing the veteran of the sport can still turn it on in the Pro Cruiser class. He’s been in every Pro Cruiser main so far this year. Not too bad for a guy who’s 27 years older than some of his competitors. WHAT !
