How did you find MTB? How old were you?
I was a wanna-be motocrosser. At 6 years old, I wanted to twist throttles, but bicycles won my soul. I used to sneak my dads mountainbike out of the garage all the time. Then, when i broke my bmx on my paper route, I bought my own mountainbike (with my paper route money) to deliver newspapers with. I was in the 6th grade.
If you could only ride at one place forever, where would it be?
If one continuous ride around the planet doesn't qualify, I guess I'd say my backyard. Because I can and will, build anything I want here.
What do you love about MTB?
The diversity of the sport is awesome (xc, dirtjumping and ripping down mountains). The fact that it is social, and combines the outdoors with physical fitness and my need for adrenaline, make it an AWESOME sport. I also love meeting the people in our sport; many of my best friends were cultivated as a result of ripping on two wheels.
What do you like least about mountain biking?
Tough question. Like in all sports (or life in general) it would probably be the people who spend more time complaining about things than taking an active role in making a difference.
What do you miss most when you are traveling?Shredding on bikes with my two little boys.
Best Place/Best Moment?
So many! Aside from right now, here's a few. In life...the birth of my two sons. Generically...the euphoria that follows pushing your body to its limit. Generally...every time I'm on my bike. Specifically...1999 Mt. Snow National Championship Finals (first top 10 in pro), X-Games 2000, and Masters Worlds 2003. Recently...being welcomed to the GT family of riders. (I started my professional career on a GT that I purchased by choice). It means a lot to me to be a part of a company with such a long tradition of awesomeness.
