The Maori Marble Masterpiece
The UCI World Championships is one of the most anticipated downhill events of the season. Every year, riders not only bring their A-game to the track but to their bike too. From custom color and graphics to super blinged-out rigs, riders pull out all the stops for Worlds, and Wyn Masters is no different.
For the 2019 World Champs, Wyn partnered with Lars Diedenhofen from 70id to come up with this Maori Marble Masterpiece. The inspiration for the marble paint scheme came from a bike Wyn saw fellow Kiwi, Casey Brown, ride. Since black and white are the national NZ colors, Wyn figured "it would be cool for a Worlds bike". Wyn says his favorite aspect of the bike is "the WynTV logo along with the NZ fern...have to say, this is my favorite Worlds bike so far."
Wyn isn’t too picky about his set up, “I’m more of a set and forget kinda rider,” he claims, “but I do like my brakes to be quite even and have the same bite point, so sometimes that can take some extra bleeds.” When you’re pinning it down some of the gnarliest tracks in the world, it’s always nice to know your brakes are dialed!
