Rocker Tuned Suspension system gave the rider all the benefits of a rigid framed bicycle, with the added performance of full suspension. What made it tick? A small CNC machined aluminum rocker link.
As GT’s mountain bike success evolved, so did its suspension. In ‘96, GT introduced an aluminum frame with a classic, “four bars linkage” system, coined the LTS.
The development of thermoplastic technology allowed GT to optimize high stress areas to take the abuse of downhill racing. GT introduced a full range of STS builds, including the DH Lobo which became the state of the art for long travel DH bikes.
In order to combat the ever-pervasive problem of jerky pedal stroke, GT introduced the first version of the i-Drive system in ’99. Two more generations of this platform followed featuring a “Flex Plate”, and later the “Dog Bone”.
In the evolution of i-Drive, GT launched the Independent Drivetrain suspension system that further improved efficiency by separating suspension movement from the drivetrain. This minimized pedal feedback, allowing the rider to maintain momentum, first featured on the 2014 Fury.
GT’s Angle Optimized Suspension design separated the rider’s pedal stroke from the actual suspension, so all the effort you put into pedaling stays with your pedaling and your suspension only reacts when you need it to.
